Ashé collection, in which I give my personalised interpretation of Gods and Goddesses of the Yoruba religion from West Africa. I paint each deity in profile as per the ancient Egyptian art: the figures do not interact directly with the spectator who is then invited to explore the colours, symbols, numerology and stories of each divinity.
